Strike Taiwanese Restaurant | West Broadway, Kitsilano

After a six-month long hiatus, ChineseBites dinners have returned. We gathered to sample some Taiwanese food at Strike's newest location in Kitsilano. Their most popular dish, the Taiwanese style steak with black pepper sauce, was fairly satisfying with all its noodle and egg goodness and sizzling, beefy glory. The dish also came with chicken instead, but the steak was better.

Janice and I hit up Zephyr for a quick lunch before trekking to Deighton Cup. We both ordered some cold drinks to cool down. I had the cappucino cookie ice cream slush and she went with a matcha ice cream slush. Mine was okay. I tasted lots of cookies, chocolate, and not really any coffee. Janice's was frothy and smooth.

It had been a long time since my frequent trips to Tri-ty for bubble tea and Taiwanese food. To drink, I got the mocha ice cream slush, and luckily, it's coldness offset the tasty spiciness from the Taiwanese beef noodles. The noodles were quite good and tasty, filling us up.

I finally made it back to Bubble Queen after my first trip there. I really hate their hours. I've been by a few times and they were closed. What kind of a Chinese place opens late, closes early and on holidays?

Bubble Tea x Tri-ty Cafe x Richmond

Bubble tea at Tri-ty Cafe in Richmond on December 23, 2010.

Bubble Tea | Tri-ty Café

Tri-ty has great bubble tea. Their selection is wide and serve any tastes. All the milk teas from fruit to flavours are solid. I particularly like the milk teas and ice cream slushes, particularly the mango and strawberry flavoured ones. There are a few fusion flavours of fruit that stand out. They are all good. However, anything with ice cream is a winner.
