Cambie—(April 7, 2017) Just in time for those April showers, Beta5 Chocolates and owner/pastry chef Adam Chander have reopened their popular pop-up shop (same location as last) to celebrate Easter long weekend and their Springtime in Vancouver themed collection.

Cambie—(February 1, 2017) Strathcona sweets and cream puff makers Beta5 Chocolates have opened a pop-up shop for Valentine's Day alongside unveiling their new seasonal chocolate collection. To make the affair special, the temporary shop features interesting touches like a striking mural from local artist Scott Sueme, a display from Woodreform, as well as chocolate bar collaborations from The Juice Truck and Matchstick Coffee Roasters.

Fairview Slopes—The still relatively new Porto Café in Cambie Village has been experimenting with an expanded food service and drink program. For example, I was taken with their deconstructed espresso macchiato (made of a shot of espresso, crema, and soda water) for an interesting and refreshing take on getting caffeinated.

Fairview Slopes—La Taqueria Pinche Taco Shop, and the Vancouver taco brand in general, has been a steady staple in the Cambie Village neighbourhood along with the original Gastown location, newer ones in North Vancouver and Victoria in addition to their two upscale La Mezcaleria sister restaurants.

Fairview Slopes—La Taqueria Pinche Taco Shop is a quick and easy but still very delicious eat-in or takeout meal option in the bustling Cambie meets West Broadway neighbourhood. Always friendly and full of Mexican spirit, La Taqueria is already on its third location (four if you count La Mezcaleria on Commercial Drive) for good reason. As the name suggests, it's all about tacos with a healthy dose of variety while maintaining a no-nonsense appeal.

Belgian street fashion brand Komono ("small things" in Japanese) showcased their current line and spring/summer selection of accessories. Known for their unique concept and approach to shapes and patterns, blending fashion and gender, the label has been creating distinct watches and retro-futuristic sunglasses since 2009, specializing in combining classic designs with modern styles. A bunch of us headed over to the Milestones Crossroads franchised eatery to sample their special new chef's menu for summer. The absolute highlight was the special wine pairings from Constellation Brand's finest vintages matched with each dish, including a crisp See Ya Later Ranch Unleashed Pinot Gris and sweet Inniskillin Okanagan Riesling Ice Wine.
