Giovane Cafe 1-year anniversary party at the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel at Waterfront on February 10, 2010.

Giovane Cafe at the Fairmont Pacific Rim celebrated its one-year anniversary with a small, quaint, intimate little tweetup to celebrate the occasion, replete with free sticky buns.

The cafe is pretty cool. It feels like a little treasure chest in the Waterfront area. I had never been. It's something you walk past a millions times. It's hard to miss the giant yellow "G" and scooter out front.

A lot of the usual suspects were there. I always enjoy chatter over pastries.

The vanilla bean pastry cream buns were quite good. Props to Miranda Lee for organizing things, spearheading the cafe's social media presence. I think it's a good, promising start. I like it when people just do things and invite others to come.

I finally got to meet Mijune Pak of Follow Me Foodie fame on our way out. She claims she recognized me first and was certain we met before. I was flattered. What a nice lady. She's so petite. I don't understand how she can eat so much.

We all had fun chatting it up. It was a nice little get together, mingling over coffee and treats.
