
Rick Chung (he/him) is a Vancouver-born lifestyle journalist and communications strategist of mixed Chinese and Vietnamese descent. He's known for his coverage of local culture and media published in various outlets, such as Vancouver Is Awesome, BC Living, Montecristo Magazine, The Georgia Straight, and Destination Vancouver, as a prolific writer and photographer.
He studied Political Science and International Relations at UBC and Broadcast Journalism at BCIT before starting his career in media at CBC. Lately, he's been active in handling digital marketing for multiple arts non-profit organizations and local theatre companies, including the GVPTA, Carousel Theatre, and Firehall Arts Centre.
Rick covers many different events, from cultural festivals to stage performances, theatrical shows, and galas. He regularly covers live events produced by the Arts Club, Broadway Across Canada, Cirque du Soleil, The Cultch, Just for Laughs, Science World, Vancouver Art Gallery, Vancouver Cocktail Week, Vancouver International Wine Festival, and Web Summit, as press. He also attends major Canadian film festivals such as VIFF, TIFF, DOXA, VAFF, VQFF, Whistler, and Fantasia.

FYI, most recent photos were shot with a Fujifilm X-T2 mirrorless camera system, primarily with a 23mm f/1.4 or 27mm f/2.8 pancake lens. Past photos were taken with either a Fujifilm X-T10 or an Olympus OM-D EM-1 (with an M.Zuiko 25mm f/1.8 prime lens) micro four-thirds camera system before that.
