The world tour (delayed after Bono's cycling accident) is in support of their thirteenth studio album, Songs of Innocence, among their most autobiographical albums to date after nearly forty years together. As a result, the show reflected many aspects of their (troubled) youths while paying tribute to their early musical influences.

New Music: Death From Above 1979 Enters 'The Physical World'

It's only slightly odd how it took ten years after Death From Above 1979's initial breakthrough effort, You're A Woman, I'm A Machine, for the Toronto dance punk duo to finally release their sophomore record. All this is happening after their quiet break up and subsequent reunion over creative differences and mutual acrimony/hostility. The Physical World is finally here and it definitely shows a decade of growth and musical sophistication while still harkening to the band's trademark visceral sound.

I may be late to the party, but I finally got around to discovering the magnificent voice of Adele (Laurie Blue Adkins). Her mighty, booming vocals are infectious and soulful. I love her easy listening beats and simple yet touchingly poignant lyrics.

New Music: Henry and the Nightcrawlers Deliver '100 Blows'

It's a little strange to call the French new wave influenced Vancouver rock outfit, Henry and the Nightcrawlers, a gem of a band. After all, frontman, the titular Henry Alcock-White, played in the B.C. indie band Bend Sinister, while Zachary Gray and Tom Dobrzanski make up the progressive rock duo, The Zolas.
