CBC News: Impostor Canucks Green Men Cause Traffic Jam

I was interviewed by my pals over at CBC News Vancouver on what I had to say about the traffic jam caused by The Green Men impostors this morning. It was really strange being the one interviewed and not the interviewee for a change, especially by CBC. You can watch and read the full story featuring yours truly here.

'George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight' x CBC Vancouver

"I speak two languages: English and profanity. English is my second language."
George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight | CBC Vancouver

Yesterday, I played hooky from work with social media pal Dennis Pang to head down to my second home, CBC Vancouver and watch one of two special tapings of George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight (formerly The Hour) from Vancouver. This was my longest absence from the ceeb since starting to work/intern there last summer.

Social media radio roundtable and dinner hosted by writer Steffani Cameron and social media instructor Kemp Edmonds with CBC consumer reporter Theresa Lalonde, Vancouver Sun digital writer Gillian Shaw, Rick and Kathleen Rake on March 9, 2010.

Dinner with Kemp & Steff

Today's Vancouver Daze article is a little different. No party or event per se this week. Instead, I gathered with some social media elite to discuss digital journalism and media. My friends Kemp and Steff are starting a late night radio show and podcast for CiTR campus radio at UBC.

Tweet To Eat x Acme Cafe x Gastown

Lunch at Acme Cafe in Gastown on July 9, 2010. “Keep your fork, there’s pie!”

Acme Cafe | Gastown

Watch my first produced television news story for CBC News Vancouver. I totally thought of, found, set up, organized, produced, and even conducted the interviews for and with Theresa Lalonde, who wrote, edited, and reported the story. It was incredibly stressful to pull off, but ultimately very satisfying. The story is about Vancouver restaurants using social media and features Acme Cafe and LetsGoForDinner.com. I was even recognized during the shoot.

CBC News: Social Media Internship x Day 1

Kris Krüg | Crab Beach

Today was the first day in my month-long CBC News social media and television news internship. Apparently, I am the first social media intern at the CBC. They kind of created the position for me, which is pretty cool, because of my interest in the area when I asked (more like begged) to work and learn under CBC Vancouver's social networking reporter, the lovely Theresa Lalonde.
