Kerrisdale—(Augut 6, 2016) The third annual Pacific Polo Cup thrown by the Vancouver Polo Club took place at the Southlands Riding Club (since 1943) over the weekend. As a guest of Veuve Clicquot, we took in the all the horseback festivities. It was a (not too) sunny and hazy afternoon filled with fun, fanciful mingling and people watching—many were dressed to the nines reminiscent of Deighton Cup—amidst witnessing the so-called sport of kings.

False Creek—(February 4, 2016) Science World's charitable cocktail gala and night out, dubbed Science of Cocktails, brought together over two dozen of Vancouver's finest bartenders all in support of the Class Field Trip Program. Proceeds from tickets sales—raising over $185,000 on the night—went towards providing children from underfunded Lower Mainland schools with free access to the science centre. Each of the twenty-five bar stations featured a specially concocted cocktail with a particular scientific theme or twist.

We celebrated Chef Ned Bell's successful completion of his ride across canada with a soirée at the Four Seasons Hotel. Bell returned home from his bike trip to raise awareness for sustainable seafood. The coast-to-coast journey took him 72 days and nearly 9,000 km to complete.

Dashing through the club. Yes, I went to a nightclub, on a Saturday, on Granville Street. There's only one plausible reason for this, to support a blood relative (my cousin Angelica, above). I was the night's photographer. Proceeds went to support of BC Children's Hospital Foundation.

It was a night of reliving your childhood with booze, of course. Local artist/author Doug Coupland, as a part of crowdsourcing his next art project, got together with Jelly Marketing, the Vancouver Lego Club, and some "towering ambition" for an evening of drinks, hands-on tower building, and architectural discussion in creative celebration of Lego as an art supply.
