WEEKENDER | Deighton Cup 2015 x Hastings Racecourse

Hastings–Sunrise—(July 25, 2015) The seventh annual Deighton Cup, always anchored by Saturday afternoon's Thoroughbred: A Day at the Races gala event, happened at Hastings Racecourse over the weekend. As the midpoint of summer usually marks a fanciful visit to the racetrack, well-dressed patrons came to watch the ponies in style for a formal day of chic sophistication at the races.

Dashing through the club. Yes, I went to a nightclub, on a Saturday, on Granville Street. There's only one plausible reason for this, to support a blood relative (my cousin Angelica, above). I was the night's photographer. Proceeds went to support of BC Children's Hospital Foundation.

The Social Concierge have taken GE Monogram's Dinner by Design and its luxuriously stylish dining concept to this weekend's IDS West interior design showcase in support of the Dr. Peter AIDS Foundation. Dinner by Design assembled international designers and local talent to create these inspirational three-dimensional dining installations.

Miku Restaurant x Grand Reopening Party x Waterfront

After months of waiting, Miku Restaurant officially reopened at their new Coal Harbour waterfront location. The brand new, renovated space is gorgeous, surrounded by some breathtaking views and vistas with a wrap-around patio and U-shaped bar. May days means college graduation season, so I trekked over to my alma mater for my cousin Angelica's (rainy) university convocation ceremony from the Sauder School of Business. I can't believe it's been five years since I graduated from UBC myself. Being back on campus, seeing all the new grads made me feel so old (in addition to being jade and cynical).

I returned once again to CVC's annual talent competition as a judge (for a third consecutive year) with a dozen talented acts competing for a cash grand prize.
