Coal Harbour—(August 24, 2017) Vancouver's most stylish once again gathered en masse and descended down to dual locations this year, Devonian Harbour Park (where media were situated) and Harbour Green Park, both located near the entrance to Stanley Park.
Everyone was dressed head-to-toe in their best summer whites—although many tan, beige, and silver colours were spotted—as guests celebrated the sixth annual edition of Dîner en Blanc Vancouver's outdoor dinner party well into the night.

Another 6,000 attendees—over one-third were first-time participants—between the two venues made the trek to set up for another of The Social Concierge's yearly signature end-of-summer events. This year was a more intimate, insular, and slightly more casual affair compared to the last couple of years, as the event felt focused more on the basics of communal gathering and al fresco dining with all the usual background live entertainment.

As it grew, the tightly controlled picnic venture began in Paris twenty-nine years ago as a flash-mob dinner of sorts. Now in over seventy cities around the world, the event has attracted significant attention for its affluent imagery, while highlighting a cultural divide in contemporary society to outsiders, and seeking to bring community to those who attend.

So far, Vancouver has been the only city outside Paris to host its Dîner en Blanc at multiple locations. It's a challenge every year to find suitable, accessible locations to accommodate all the moving parts of such a technically impressive endeavour while keeping things loose, lively, and exciting all night.

Part mystery, part magic, part je ne sais quoi.

On the same night, Dîner en Blanc was also held in Chicago, Edmundston, and Bucharest as well.
