The story is an old one. A Canadian band goes south to make it in the States. This CBC documentary follows Vancouver's Juno Award-winning Said The Whale and their tour travels to the South by Southwest (SxSW) music festival in Austin, Texas.
Produced by Jon Siddall from CBC Radio 2 and Radio 3 producer Brent Hodge (a friend from my time there) and directed by Hodge and Thomas Buchan, the film chronicles a familiar narrative.

I've been around enough, met members of the band, and seen them perform numerous times to know they are an infinitely likeable, charming, down-to-earth bunch of passionate musicians.
Most famously, the band's trailer was broken into and their gear and personal belongings stolen while staying over at a fan's home.
If their antics are anything like their generally fun, affable, personable demeanours, the documentary should prove more than a worthwhile watch. Be sure to tune in and check it out.

"It’s a true story about the hardships and successes of touring band trying to make it at the biggest music festival in North America."
