Waterfront—(May 30, 2025) It sure felt like almost everyone was at the inaugural Web Summit Vancouver multi-day global conference, replacing Collision Conference's five-year run in Toronto. Long considered the "Olympics of Tech" and hosted by the Dublin-based technology events company, the gathering took over three levels of the Vancouver Convention Centre West for as many days at the tail end of May.

Web Summit committed to the city in a big way by making Vancouver its newest home—its first time in North America—until at least 2027. Known for being "where the tech world meets," the conference welcomed 15,727 attendees from its worldwide community of serial entrepreneurs, industry leaders, and business innovators from over 130 countries.

Vancouver is a thriving global hub for innovation, and Web Summit's arrival only furthers its status as a destination for top stakeholders to exchange cutting-edge ideas. It brought together an array of distinguished speakers from the top of their respective fields, all sharing their expertise on the past, present, and future of tech.

Technology has become the fastest-growing sector in British Columbia, growing at twice the rate of the overall economy, with the city ranking first in high-tech job growth in North America. Web Summit Vancouver is easily the largest conference ever hosted here and already the fastest-growing tech conference in North America. Web Summit events—including its flagship conference in Lisbon, Web Summit Rio in South America, Qatar in the Middle East, and Rise in Asia—have gathered nearly one million people together since its first 150-person conference in Dublin in 2009.
