Music Waste 2011: Fine Mist x Humans x Biltmore Cabaret

Music Waste 2011: Fine Mist and Humans live in concert at the Biltmore Cabaret on June 4, 2011.

I was pumped to check out Music Waste this year and see one of my favourite local acts again.

I love the electric pop duo, Fine Mist, who I discovered at a Music Waste show last year.

They had an odd, very stone faced stage presence, promising a short set of 36 songs or so. It was an intimate, engaging performance.

Their '80s feel and new wave, pop anthems are so catchy and danceable. They got the crowd fired up and loose.

For their last song, they invited fans to sing and dance on stage. It was a fun performance and amusing set of high fire music. I also got to meet Guns at Home blogger Stefanie. Hooray.

I was also looking forward to seeing Humans perform with their energetic brand of dance rock.

I originally saw them at the TEDxVancouver after show and thought they were pretty wicked.

They played a few new songs and I found their performance quite different than the last time.

It was a lot more dance and electronic infused than before. It was less of a rock show from last time, but they still had a great, infectious, crowd pumping set.

Music Waste is a really easy, fun way to see bands and artists perform. I hope the festival continues to thrive. Check it out.

Humans were unreal, I felt totally transported to a different place. Your description of "really intense" was dead on. So nice to meet you, hope we can talk without yelling sometime too. I lost my voice.
