We actually picked and reserved our table through Twitter adding to the social media vibe. Terracotta owner Eric Low invited us over to try their modern Chinese food. He even sat with us and gave us a brief overview of the restaurant. After dinner, he served us a special concoction of Chivas and green tea.

The Chinese food was pretty good; however, it was not really "modern" per se. They had some pretty standard dishes from sweet and sour pork to chicken chow mein.

My new acquaintance, Angela Ling and I split the dry rib sliders, ginger beef, and Shanghai noodles. They were all good. It was basically solid Chinese food in a hip, trendy location in Gastown.

I thought the ginger beef was tasty and crispy. The noodles were filling and good. The sliders, by far their most popular dish, was an interesting, flavourful twist even with their deep fried buns. Dining in the lounge are in downstairs proved a good combination for conversation and food.

We were seated in the basement lounge area which was very cool. Our table was a re-purposed door from China. It was a neat dining experience. I found the atmosphere and dining a cool setup that was casual and an ideal place to hang out and lounge around.

I walked away remembering a couple personal comments from the evening: that I looked exactly like my Twitter avatar and that people like and were impressed with my clean blog design.

After dinner and lounging around, Dennis, Colene, Vanessa, Jason and I went out for a late drink at The Corner Suite. The spot is a really cool restaurant on the corner of Thurlow. I really like the decor and furniture and their drink selection and menu was very impressive but a little intimidating. It was a perfect place to grab a nice, fancy drink.

A big thanks goes out to the always lovely Vanessa Chu for organizing things after our original hostess, Janet Tieu, moved back to Toronto. She was missed.

Vanessa, Colene, and I all got the Ramos Gin Fizz at Dennis' recommendation. I thought it was a flavourful drink with a nice, creamy, rich taste.

Vanessa kept saying how filling it was, comparing it to a milkshake. All in all, it was a full night of friendly, intriguing conversation, casual food, and drinks. I look forward to the next one.
