Financial District—Victoria's popular throwback to the fast-casual style burger and shake joint, Burger Crush, just opened its second (forty-seat) location in the old Johnny Rockets space only a stone's throw away from the infamous Granville strip.

Crush specializes in no-frills handheld burgers (including side-by-side vegetarian or vegan options for everything) and pretty basic options inside a bright and shiny west coast shell—not unlike the popular In-N-Out Burger it's clearly aping from down in the States.

- Cheeseburger (a hand-pressed single patty on a brioche bun): I definitely tasted the fresh and high-quality ingredients in what made for an all-around simple but damn tasty burger.
- Crush fries (topped with fried onions and cheese): this take on Animal Style fries made with hand-cut Kennebec potatoes, cooked in vegetable oil, and drenched in their secret "Crush" sauce also did the trick.
- Chocolate milkshake (also available in vegan): it was easy to enjoy such a thick and creamy sweet treat.

Burger Crush certainly fits in as a nice addition to the bustling Vancouver burger scene for both carnivores and herbivores alike. It's an altogether aesthetically pleasing and tasty endeavour. Still, it's a little pricey for what feels and tastes like essentially a fancy fast food burger spot.
