Vancouver’s global wine fest returned bigger than ever, showcasing countless international blends with dozens of events (from special wine pairings, gala dinners, and international festival tastings) all over downtown.

This year’s tasting spotlight was on the wines of France (home to Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Syrah, and Malbec) with a special focus on bubbly champagne with half of the showroom floor dedicated to les vins de France and their 27,000 wineries, organized by region.

A highlight for me was the inexpensive yet delightful Le Jaja de Jau sauvignon blanc and its refreshingly crisp taste.

It was an overwhelming experience, especially in the international zone with vintages from Argentina, Australia, New Zealand, Spain, Portugal, Chile, Italy, South Africa, Canada, and the U.S. Glug.
