Dinner and beer special at Indochine Kitchen on East Broadway in Mount Pleasant on July 12, 2012.

We returned to Indochine for $10.99 house lager beer pitcher and to try the rest of the menu. I enjoyed the black pepper poutine (with ground beef and a fried egg), but it was more a novelty than anything. The egg added nothing and it needed more cheese. I liked the beefy, Asian-style gravy.

The raw butter beef carpaccio (with citrus Vietnamese vinaigrette, garlic chips, and cilantro) went down well with a tangy, flavourful taste.

I've already thoroughly dissected all three kinds of their chicken wings. You can't beat the half-price Wednesday specials. The garlic butter wings were still tasty and full of MSG.

The papaya salad (with basil, mint, crushed peanuts, sweet chili soy dressing, and beef jerky) was fine and fairly standard. It's a nice pick me up.

I thought the bacon-wrapped grilled enoki mushrooms spoke for themselves, good yet a little unremarkable. We mainly went for the beer special, but Indochine does provide good eats at decent prices with great everyday specials in a central location.
