Holiday tea service at The Urban Tea Merchant downtown on November 17, 2012.
'Tis the season, or almost anyways. I headed down to The Urban Tea Merchant for an invitation to sample their newest seasonal tea service just in time for the holidays.
I was served both the Red and White Christmas blends from TWG Tea, dining in the store front with tables set up outside their tea salon. I preferred the Red and it's hearty, smooth taste.
The holiday tower of treats was packed with mini roast beef and turkey sandwiches, sweet potato purée crackers, seared ahi tuna crostinis, scones, gingerbread cakes, smoked salmon, chocolates, fruits, macarons, and more. All were delicious, but my favourites were the tuna and scones with jam and butter.
The tea service came with a tea infused sparkling wine cocktail that was surprisingly refreshing and tasty despite my aversion to champagne type cocktails.
I very much enjoyed the holiday tea service. The tower was packed with a great variety of delicious treats and bites. Like always, the tea shop was filled with seasonal decorations and filled with special gift packages all ready for the holiday season.
