KnowShow clothing, product, and lifestyle trade show at Vancouver Convention Centre West from August 17-18, 2011.

I was invited by Dela Cruz PR to browse the KnowShow and really dug the Miami Vice themed displays and some of the custom artwork.

I don't think I've ever been to a trade show before so I tried to soak in things browsing all the vendors.

I ran into the lovely Queenie Tang at the Premium Collective Showroom booth, decked out in some trendy gear.

Many of the brands and distributors personally introduced and showed their upcoming product lines to vendors making orders. I walked past the sessions, observing their serious faces, trying to decide what to order.

There was a random fake pool and beach area where I enjoyed a drink and fell off my chair, chatting with Melania Dela Cruz.

The show previewed the spring collection of clothing and wear for vendors and shop owners anticipating the new clothing lines.

I think the shoes were the most eye catching, prominent goods on display. They were easily displayed with minimal set up and effort. I'm a little ignorant about a lot of clothing and consumer brands so I took it easy observing.

The convention centre, which I love, offered too much of a grey vibe and colour with all the concrete and roof amidst so many creative items on display. The custom made booths really stood out.

I remarked to others I wished I could have gone shopping at the show with all my favourite brands in one place. Most of the gear is only available at special surf, skate, alternative, and athletics shops. Seeing it all in once convenient location was a change of pace.

I loved the indie vibe and massive bookshelf of free independent magazines and publications outside in the lobby. Sometimes I forget what a vibrant, passionate, design and consumer goods community there is in the city.
